Work to improve traffic flow around the popular North Point Retail shopping precinct in Mackay is now complete, Member for Whitsunday Jan Jarratt said today.
Ms Jarratt said the completed upgrades at Kay Court and Heaths Road intersection would ease congestion for shoppers and the local community.
“These upgrades were designed to improve traffic flow in the area and improve safety for motorists in Kay Court and in North Point Retail,” Ms Jarratt said.
“A new roundabout was built to ease traffic congestion at the Heaths Road and Windmill Crescent intersection and work was also carried out at the intersection of Heaths Road and Kay Court.
“The old medians were removed and replaced with new ones, repairs were made to the road surface, new asphalt was laid and a new roundabout was built.
“I thank motorists and our local community for their patience while this important safety work was carried out,” Ms Jarratt said.
