Member for Whitsunday, Jan Jarratt is encouraging all students, employers, training providers and organisations to nominate and reap the many rewards that accompany the 2010 Queensland Training Awards.
“The search is on for the state’s best employers, apprentices, trainees, vocational students and training providers as part of the Queensland government’s longest running industry accolades – the 2010 Queensland Training Awards,” Ms Jarratt said.
The Queensland Training Awards are Queensland’s most prestigious training awards program and continue a 48-year tradition of recognising and rewarding Queensland individuals and organisations who strive for best practice and innovation in training.
“There are 11 categories up for grabs in the 49th annual awards, and will celebrate outstanding vocational education and training achievements of individuals and businesses,” Ms Jarratt said.
“The awards provide organisations and individuals with increased exposure and recognition throughout their community and industry. Individuals in the student categories also have the opportunity to win fantastic prizes such as cash, computers and overseas trips.
“These awards are all about setting the bar high and rising to the challenge. Staying competitive across a host of traditional and emerging industries is more important than ever before and the Queensland Government recognises that out skills base is crucial to our future,” Ms Jarratt said.
“Last year, the awards attracted more than 640 nominations from across the state and this year will be no different.”
