CALL TO NOMINATE A VALUABLE COMMUNITY MEMBER

Justices of the Peace and Commissioners for Declarations can now be nominated for the ruby award for their 40 years service and the diamond award for 60 years service.

Member for Whitsunday Jan Jarratt is urging those who may know of a valuable community member that may be eligible to be nominated for one of these awards.

“JP’s and Commissioners for Declarations play a critical role in our community supporting a wide range of services and initiatives,” Ms Jarratt said.

“These people are highly-respected members of the community who volunteer their time towards Queensland’s legal system and perform a wide range of services, from witnessing the signing of documents to hearing certain matters in court.

“If you know of someone who is a JP or a Commissioner for Declarations and will be celebrating their 40 or 60 years of service, I encourage you to nominate them for an award.
