The Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation has just released a new way for community organisations to apply for funding.
Parliamentary Secretary for Employment, Economic Development and Innovation and Member for Whitsunday, Jan Jarratt said the new system would change the way in which community groups will apply for grants.
“From September 1, not for profit organisations can apply for funding on line which will save applicants considerable time and money,” Ms Jarratt said.
The Community Benefit Fund Unit will allow contenders to submit a grant application on-line and if approved for funding, manage all aspects of the grant electronically.
“I encourage all community groups to visit www.olgr.qld.gov.au/grants and find out how they can submit their application to purchase much-needed equipment or for a necessary renovation.
There are various grants schemes available to community groups including the Gambling Community Benefit Fund and the Breakwater Island Casino Benefit Fund with online help at hand.
For further information contact the Community Benefits Funds Unit on 1800 633 619 or alternatively visit www.olgr.qld.gov.au/grants.
