The group's primary objective is to plan for environmental and social sustainability with the Whitsunday catchments. Volunteers collect seed, then propagate natives for revegetation projects throughout the region. Volunteers are free to assist at their leisure. |

| Cruise Ship Ambassador Program |
Established nearly five years ago, this group of volunteers meet and greet passengers as they arrive off the cruise ships in Airlie Beach. Passengers arrive at Abel Point Marina and are provided with an information booklet and are given directions and general information on the area. When returning to their ship, the passengers are thanked for visiting Airlie Beach and are given a Tourism Whitsunday Holiday Planner to encourage them to return for a holiday in the region. |

Proserpine Chat and Patch is a group of devoted members who donate quilts to both the Proserpine Hospital and the Proserpine Nursing Home annually. The club is also involved with fundraising events and helps to increase the awareness of breast and prostate cancer. Proserpine Chat and Patch are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping the community. If you have some sewing skills, time and patience, then Proserpine Chat and Patch would love to meet you. |

Established in 1922, the Queensland Country Women's Association (QCWA) is one of the largest women's organisations in Queensland. The QCWA aims to improve conditions for women and children in Australia especially those who live in rural and remote areas. The group is renowned for its role in assisting communities during times of stress and disaster. Equally, they have a long history of providing education and entertainment through the activities of the many CWA branches Australia wide. The QCWA Proserpine Branch welcomes volunteers who can assist with handcraft, public speaking cookery, knitting and crochet, etc. |

VMR Mackay is a not for profit organisation and conducts search and rescue on the water for distressed vessels. VMR Mackay's search and rescue service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.The group is looking for volunteers to assist with radio operations, book keeping and data entry as well as crewmen. Prior experience with Quick Books would be an advantage and computer and keyboard experience would be beneficial. |

EcoKids is an extracurricular volunteer based program supported by the OUCH environemnt group and registered by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. The purpose the Eco Kids program is to provide environmental activities for children in years 4 to 12. Eco Kids is looking for young people to get involved with environmental matters including looking after our Great Barrier Reef as well as to be a part of their anti litter campaign aimed at smokers "Keep Your Butts Off Our Reef" in which they won an award at the recent 2009 Queensland Ergon Energy Tidy Towns Awards. |
